1. The film's logo is made up of a collage of pictures of Shah Rukh's real fans

Haven't seen the logo that closely yet? Well, watch it up here. The makers called it a "special treat" for all SRK fans. The entire team ran a contest asking the fans to participate in the challenge. 100 lucky winners were chosen and their profile pictures were used to make the logo. Isn't it creativity at its best?

2. Shah Rukh's residence Mannat has been recreated for the film.

The film has shots of SRK inside his residence. Director Maneesh Sharma wanted to feature Mannat in the film but due to security reasons couldn't get the permission to shoot around his house. Hence, a replica of the building was created at Mumbai's Film City. And going by the looks of it, it's a carbon copy!

3. To play his own fan, SRK underwent 3D scanning.

We know he loves perfection. And to make the role of Gaurav, a look-alike fan seem real and relatable, SRK underwent digital 3D scanning for his face. He even headed to US for that. It's the first time he has used this technology in any of his films.

4. Big names from Hollywood were roped in for SRK's prosthetic make-up.

Greg Cannom was hired as make-up artist to get the best look for Gaurav's character. FYI, Greg is a three-time Academy Award winner who has worked for films like The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, Van Helsing, A Beautiful Mind, and back home also made Rishi Kapoor the grandpa in Kapoor And Sons!

5. The idea of Fan came up eight years ago. It took a long time to go on floors.

Maneesh Sharma was the Assistant Director on Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. Now he is directing SRK. It was definitely his dream come true. He said "I can't let Shah Rukh down". Thank god the film finally happened even if it was after eight years.

6. The film's release has been postponed twice before.

Initially, Fan was to hit the screens in early 2015, but due to Shah Rukh suffering an injury, things fell out of hand. Then the date was pushed to mid-2015 which couldn't be met too. Finally, it's happening, and how!

7. Rumours suggest that Fan is inspired from Hollywood film The Fan.

When it's first trailer was released, speculations ran high that the plot of Fan seemed pretty similar to a 1996 Robert De Niro movie also called The Fan. Though the Hollywood film is a flop with a 38% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, we hope our Bollywood version will flip the tables.

8. SRK will be seen romancing Ileana D'Cruz and Vaani Kapoor.

If you thought it's all about SRK's double-dose, well no. We even have him romancing these two for the very first time onscreen. And knowing SRK, we are sure he'll do a bloody good job! The film also stars Sayali Gupta and Waluscha De Sousa. Call them lucky girls.

9. SRK calls it the "most special film" of his life.

In his own words "Fan has been the most difficult film of my life and at the same time, it's the most special film as well". Hope his fans get to agree with him after its release.

10. The film has been shot in Mumbai, Croatia, London and Delhi.

With its various sequences, the film also jumps locations from India to abroad. A treat for the eyes!

11. SRK suffered a major injury during the shooting.

On the very first day of filming an intense action sequence in Croatia, the actor sprained his leg so badly that he had to be be under painkillers and physiotherapy sessions to even stand or walk! He still managed to wrap the schedule there.

12. Fan is the first film to be shot at Madame Tussauds Museum, London.

A scene in the film shows SRK standing with his wax statue. The makers had to take the entire unit to London and also seek special permissions for the shoot.

13. Use of mobile phones was a complete no-no on the sets.

The producers made it clear from the very start that they don't want to leak SRK's look from the film. hence, nobody was allowed to take pictures on sets. Even King Khan wasn't allowed to use his mobile phone!

14. The film has also used real footage of SRK's fans.

In order to maintain authenticity, the makers used actual footage of the actor's fans in the film that was shot during his birthday in 2014 and 2015.

Fan has apparently received six verbal cuts from the censor board, including Hindi and English cuss words and abuses and one trimming down of a "violent" scene. Rest assured the film is being slated as one of the best performances by SRK, and according to some box office predictions, it will be the highest opener of 2016. We need to wait for the figures considering equally big films like Sultan, Raees and Dangal are on its way this year too.

Good luck SRK!
